As per Ayurveda, everyone and everything is made up of five basic elements earth, water, fire, air and space which manifest itself in the human body as Vata, Pitta and Kapha (or the Tridoshas). These doshas are the units of the material world. Combination of these in different ratio creates different foods, different climates, different species etc. Every human being has his prakriti (Constitutional Nature) determined by the dominance of Vata, Pitta or Kapha or their combinations. Absence of harmony in five basic elements cause diseases. For Vata prakriti people- Foods like hot cereal, hearty soups and vegetables, and whole cooked grains and chapatis would help counter early fatigue during workouts.
For Pitta prakriti people- Foods with mild, naturally sweet, bitter or astringent taste and cooked with ghee cumin and cilantro would bring down internal heat aggravated during exercise.
For Kapha prakriti people- Dry hot food cooked with spices like ginger and garlic helps remove heaviness and improve metabolism.
